Laverock Lodge and Sheephaven Cottage are pet friendly cottages in Durham that are a  part of Laverock Hall Farm, situated about half a mile outside the village of Eggleston. Barnard Castle. The pet friendly cottages  were originally farm buildings and we have found records and maps of their existence dating back to the mid 1700’s. Until 2008 they were still used for their original purpose. Laverock Lodge was used for feed storage and to clip the sheep every year and Sheep Haven Cottage was full of pet lambs and Mums with complications or who just needed a bit of TLC!

Not only do we offer superb accommodation for an unlimited amount of dogs but we are also an indoor Agility Centre. Your dogs are our priority and we offer all of you a pet friendly holiday in Durham to remember! Accessibility: Sheephaven Cottage is on one level with low level light switches and is wheelchair accessible.

Laverock Indoor Agility Arena

Here is our "piece de la resistance" for all you Agility Fans or anyone wanting to try it out! Replacing a derelict piggery we inherited on the farm the Arena is a brand new 120 foot long steel portal building.  It has tea and coffee making facilities, full strip lighting (included) and state of the art flooring which is a mix of silica sand and equestrian turf float polymer fibres which allows the dogs to travel over the ground rather than down into it. The Arena is available for hire by both people in the cottages and anyone trained to a competition standard in Agility. Local clubs also hire the arena and clubs from further afield organise weekend training breaks with guest trainers.

When you hire the building you just turn up, train and go! No lugging heavy equipment in or out or having to move all the horse poos  first!! We have a full set of equipment included in the hire price plus many extras.
